I survived Hurriquake 2011

That's everyone's new saying around here. Last week was an eventful week, with an earthquake on Tuesday and hurricane Irene coming through this past weekend. The earthquake was a pretty good one! I was at work, and all of the kids were asleep. I was so confused bc it felt like a quake but there aren't quakes in VA??!? The people here were freaking out, and I can't blame them bc for many of them that was their first earthquake ever! However it was kind of funny to see/hear about them freaking out. Eric said one lady in his office screamed at the top of her lungs, and another guy went sprinting out. I watched on the news a bunch of people who evacuated their buildings...only to stand on the street in the middle of two high rises :-)

The hurricane was also rather hyped up. I was starting to get nervous bc of all the news coverage on how bad "mean Irene" was going to get. We had a lot of rain and some trees down, but it wasn't that bad. A lot of people lost power which sucks but luckily we only lost power for about 20 min in the middle of the night. Sunday we did have to do a Lot of cleanup around the house to get all the limbs and stuff cleared out. Overall it wasn't too bad.

For labor day weekend were off to WV to go camping, woohoo!

Introducing... Mr. and Mrs. Moody

Ok first of all... I have the BEST BFF ever! Jessica my love you rock! She helped me get into this blogging thing in the first place, and she made it for me and it's SOO dang cute!!

I guess I am blogging now so that out friends and family can follow us in our adventures on our new journey of life together.

We got married 3 weeks ago on Aug. 6. It was AMAZING. We had so much fun celebrating with our family and friends. The wedding was at our house, so we spent a lot of time getting it ready. Most everyone arrived the evening before, so basically everyone that came to the wedding helped in decorating and preparing, which was really special to us. The day of the wedding it was calling for rain, I was freaking out! The rain held off for the ceremony, but literally right after it POURED! The photographer got some awesome photos of us in the rain. Good thing I got a second dress and Eric a reception attire because after the downpour we were absolutely soaked. We had a lot of fun.

The Tuesday after we headed to Jamaica for a short honeymoon get away. We had a lot of fun. It was really sad to see all of the poverty of the country but overall it was a good time!

Now we are just settling into our routines again back at work and around the house. Tonight we have our neighbors coming over for dinner, and we are excite to get to know them! I've got lots to do before then so I better jet... Until next time!
